Thursday June 17, 2021 - Eleventh week of Ordinary Time - You have received a Spirit who makes you sons; it is in him that we cry "Abba", Father - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 6, 7-15

Jesus teaches his disciples the right and only way to pray: without unnecessary palaver, knowing how to forgive and humble. This prayer that the disciples received from Christ is what we call the prayer par excellence, because it is not a simple recitation or incessant rambling, but a real conversation with God. By resuming this prayer and meditating on it conscientiously, we will be able to grasp its deeper meaning.

The first part is addressed directly to God the Father, the Most Holy, the King, Lord of all power and Master of the mission, to whom it is necessary to obey and whom it is necessary to serve. As for the second part, it puts man and his needs under the benevolence of God. Imperfect, we need the fullness of God. Weak, fickle, and sinful, we need his mercy. Selfish, resentful, we need to learn from his mercy to ensure the remission of our sins. Also, let us be careful not to pray in vain by conforming to the routine of a ritual, because praying is to put God in his place and it is also a question of recognizing our insignificance in front of his magnificence.

The Spirit of truth will guide you into all truth
