Sunday May 30, 2021 - The Most Holy Trinity - Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: to the God who is, who was and who is to come - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 28, 16-20
God is a family that lives in the most perfect love, such is the theme proposed to us on this Sunday of the Most Holy Trinity. Whenever we talk about the Trinity, two things that are so familiar to us come to mind:
First, the sign of the cross, a ritual that consists of gestures and words;
Second, comes the praise addressed to God: "Glory to the Father, to the Son and to the Holy Spirit".
Dear Christians, "Trinity" is a single word expressing the mystery in God or more exactly the mystery of God, in other words, it is about the effective existence of God, inaccessible to the human spirit and whose reality is impossible to be demonstrated by science. Moreover, Saint Augustine, an eminent thinker experienced it and could not conclude that "man is so finite that he cannot apprehend God who is infinite".
Furthermore, the relationship of the Holy Trinity is for us an unshakeable treasure of faith. First, there is the relationship between the distinct persons: the Father is not the Son just as the latter is not the Holy Spirit. Then comes the unique nature that we find in the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit; nature expressing the fundamental unity of God. The baptism of the Lord in the Jordan River is a good illustration of this nature and these people. The voice piercing the clouds attests to the presence of the Father, the Son, in the person of Jesus, as well as the Holy Spirit, in the guise of the dove, are also present.
Also, in practice, let us pray to God: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, signing us at the same time, because there is no greater wonder than a family sharing the same life. There is no other perfection than to be united in love, like the Holy Trinity. Segregation and discord go against our nature, for we are made for unity and harmony in the Holy Trinity.
