Tuesday, June 1, 2021 - Ninth week in Ordinary Time - May the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ open the eyes of our hearts to his light, so that we may perceive the hope given by his call - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 12, 13-17

The adage "Arroseur arrosé" applies here well to those who wanted to trap Jesus by asking him: "Master, ... Is it permissible, yes or not, to pay the tax to Caesar? ... we pay, yes or no? ". Unequivocally, Jesus gives a clear answer: "What is Caesar's, give back to Caesar, and to God what is God". Indeed, what would we answer if we were asked the question, which one is superior, Caesar or God? Jesus puts us well in context. We are entirely to God and we owe him everything, because he created us and made us in his image.

Dear Christians, being human, we are subject to duties, on the one hand temporal and on the other hand spiritual. Very distinct duties, nevertheless inseparable, and Jesus wants us to fulfill them, because although we belong to God, therefore spiritual, we also live in this world. Moreover, the Confiteor, a prayer that is familiar to us, emphasizes that one can sin in thought, word, action and omission, that is to say, in the latter case by not fulfilling what we had to do. It is therefore essential to carry out one's duties zealously and without hypocrisy, because giving makes people happier than receiving.
