Wednesday April 21, 2021 - Third week of Paschal Season - He who sees the Son and believes in him has eternal life, says the Lord; and I will raise him up at the last day - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 6, 35-40

In today’s gospel, God shows us how he cares about our hunger and thirst. He is not a sadistic God or a God indifferent to our daily conditions. Sometimes we don't believe in it.

But what hunger and what thirst does the gospel speak to us about? It is the hunger and thirst for eternal life. It is in Jesus Christ that we can have this answer: "For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day. my Father's will: that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day "(Jn 6: 39-40). Jesus therefore invites us to draw near to Him and to receive the Eucharist.

This Gospel passage also invites us to strengthen our faith, because if we want eternal life, if we want to be resurrected on the last day, we must recognize and receive Jesus by faith. This faith puts us in real communion with Jesus Christ. So let us strengthen our faith by prayer, by attending the sacraments and by listening to the Word of God.
