Friday, February 12, 2021 - Fifth week in ordinary time - Lord, open our hearts to make us attentive to the words of your Son - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 7, 31-37

Brothers and sisters ! Jesus is again on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, in the province of Decapolis. What happened ? A lame man is brought to Him, both deaf and dumb to lay His hands on him. This tells us that the laying on of hands is sacred, it is not done indiscriminately, and that not everyone can do it. Otherwise, it would not have been necessary to come to Jesus, but those who carried him would have been enough to lay their hands on him. So let's be vigilant and make sure that no one can lay hands on us because not everyone has the authority.

Brothers and sisters, Jesus put his fingers in the ears of the man, and his saliva on his tongue and said: Effata or open yourself. The priest repeats this gesture when he baptizes so that the ears of the neophyte are not blocked or distracted by voices other than that of the good shepherd; so that it will not always be empty words, rumors, lies and deceptions, scams and hate words that will come out of his mouth but the good word for the poor.

In conclusion, all the baptized are called to use their ears and their mouths for the glory of God.

The Spirit of truth will guide you into all truth
