Thursday February 11, 2021 - Fifth week in ordinary time - Receive with meekness the Word sown in us: it is this that can save you - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 7, 24-30

Brothers and sisters ! Christ is now in the territories of Tire and Sidon, an area considered pagan. Yet there was a woman, whose daughter was possessed by an unclean spirit, and she came to bow down at the feet of Jesus. This mother's attitude is that of many of us when we enter a church (kneel and bow). This reminds us of the words of Pope Francis: "Only the sick and the lame can no longer kneel, he says"; in other words, when we refuse to kneel down and worship Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, we can cast doubt on the health of our soul.

Besides respect and the intention to give glory to God, prostrating oneself is also a supplication to be answered, as this mother of a family did. However, we may not have an immediate response. Here Jesus declares: "Let the children first be satisfied, for it is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the little dogs", that is, God is free to establish your plan and priorities.

Brothers and sisters, sooner or later God always responds to those who trust Him. Let us insist: those who trust in God, that is to say those who do not use him as a simple instrument which we only remember in difficult times. Here even pagans accept God's plan and priorities, the stronger the reason for us believers. So let us remember the word of God: "Why say: If you can…? Everything is possible for him who believes".

The Spirit of truth will guide you into all truth
