Monday February 8, 2021 - Fifth week in ordinary time - Jesus proclaimed the Gospel of the Kingdom and healed all infirmities in the people - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 6, 53-56

Dear Christians. In this Gospel, it is clearly indicated that Jesus and his disciples arrived at Gennesaret: the place where they accosted after the storm during which the disciples saw Jesus walking on water. First observation: Whatever the difficulties, when we are with Jesus, we always end up succeeding. Let us underline the words "always succeed": it is a question of an indubitable assurance and not of a possibility nor of a strong probability. Second observation: Jesus is not limited to one place, nor reserved for a particular group or family. That's why He goes from town to town. It would therefore also be good not to regard the Church as the property of a privileged individual or group.

Here, Saint Mark declares that whoever touches, just the fringe of his robe is healed. For us today it is different and even much further, not only do we touch it but we also eat it, and before we eat it we say: "Lord, I am not worthy to receive you but just say my word and I will be healed ". But, what we must imperatively imitate those of Genesareth is the longing to receive Him and then to believe in Him.

Brothers and sisters therefore, may our faith in Jesus not be the simple fruit of ratiocination, but a living faith. This is what a deep desire, coming from the heart, to touch Him and to be touched by Him means.

Message from the Bishops at the end of the Pilgrimage

With you, we take up Mary's song: ‘My soul exalts the Lord’ and we repeat with her: ‘What shall I repay the Lord for all the good he has done me?’....
