Wednesday, January 6, 2021 - Wednesday after Epiphany - Praise be to you, Jesus Christ, manifested in the flesh, proclaimed among the nations, recognized in the world - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 6, 45-52

After Jesus multiplied the loaves and fishes to feed the crowd, the disciples saw another miracle in Him. They were amazed to see Jesus walking on the water. For the Jews, the sea symbolises the power of evil. And, of course, only the power of God can overcome this. The disciples seem to have forgotten that this Jesus, whom they follow, is the Son of God, and they still think of a ghost when they see him walking on the water. Their knowledge and faith in Jesus was not yet sufficient. So they were with him every day and followed Jesus everywhere.

Jesus begins to reveal himself in this Gospel. He declares his victory over evil, i.e. death. So Jesus invites us to trust him and not to be afraid when we are faced with difficulties because he is indeed "the Conqueror of the world" through his resurrection. Let us entrust all our worries, anxieties and sorrows to Him, and He will relieve them.

Our daily communion with Jesus in the Eucharist and prayer is the key to our success. There we will know what He really is: He is the Son of God, the Overcomer of Evil. So let us trust Jesus, the Son of God, and not be afraid to follow Him.

The Spirit of truth will guide you into all truth
