Thursday 19 November 2020 - 33rd week of Ordinary Time - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 19, 41-44 - Today, do not close your heart, but listen to the voice of the Lord.

When Jesus arrived near Jerusalem and saw it, He wept over it, because He had done all He could to bring the people of Jerusalem to conversion, but they would not listen to Him. Indeed, Jerusalem was supposed to be the city of peace, as described by the psalmist in Psalm 122, but this did not happen. Sometimes we too can say or do something that upsets or makes Christ cry, throughout our lives, especially if we do not believe or ignore his words. However, what He wants above all is our happiness, but just like Jerusalem, we are ungrateful. So let us meditate and deepen what St Luke says here, and let us always be obedient to Christ and follow him.
