Wednesday, January 1, 2020 — Mary, Mother of God — Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 2, 16-21 — ON many occacions and on many ways, God in the past, has spoken to our Fathers by the prophets; but in the end on these days when we are, He has spoken to us by his Son
God wants us to have peace and it is his Son, this child who has just been born, who brings us this peace. Are we inclined to follow this Light being born that assures us peace? How far does this glory of God that the angels sing? The glory that we contemplate in its fullness on the cross because it is this cross that is our salvation. The greatest joy, the true glory of God is the mystery we celebrate at Easter. Mary fully participated in this mystery, so let us never separate ourselves from her by contemplating with her the glory of God.
