Thursday 15 October 2020 - 28th week of Ordinary Time - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 11, 47-54 - I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, says the Lord. No one goes to the Father without passing through me.
One of the reasons why the prophets of the Old Testament were killed, as well as Jesus, who is greater than these prophets, was because they preached, taught the truth and guarded righteousness. The reason for this is that all this disturbed the Pharisees and the scribes, especially in the prayer life and in the social order. Because Jesus is God's direct messenger on earth, they would never have accepted this, but Jesus was not afraid, he valiantly announced God's truth. Jesus did not allow himself to be intimidated, even though this meant persecution and death for him.
Today, the spirit of the Pharisees is still visible and perceptible everywhere. This is manifested in not allowing Christians to express their faith, in denigrating the Church, in persecuting the leaders of the Church. Therefore, take courage, for those who are affected, great trees attract the wind, and woe to me if I do not preach the Gospel," said St. Paul. I take the part that corresponds to your call, I am ready to love until my last breath. This is my solemn vow, O God the Father! Amen.
