Tuesday, September 15, 2020 - Our Lady of Sorrows - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to St. John 19, 25-27 - Blessed are you, Virgin Mary, who received the victory of the Martyrs under the immortal Cross of the Lord.

The sufferings of the Blessed Virgin Mary are inseparable from the history of our salvation, from the conception of Christ in her womb to the foot of the cross on which Christ was crucified. Simeon had foretold this to her when she presented Christ in the temple, saying: "Behold, this child will bring about the fall and the rise of many in Israel. He will be a sign of contradiction - and you, your soul will be pierced by a sword -: thus will be revealed the thoughts that come from the hearts of many". (Luke 2, 33-35). The Blessed Virgin Mary suffered much, witnessing the torments of her son, but she endured it out of love for us, so let us join our sufferings to hers, contemplating Christ crucified for our sins.
