Sunday, July 26, 2020 - 17th Sunday in Ordinary Time - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 13, 44-52 - Blessed are you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for having revealed to the little ones the mysteries of the Kingdom!

Brothers and sisters, according to the theme proposed to us for this week, it is better to leave all that we consider good in order to receive the best, namely life with God.

Jesus draws our attention to contemplate and found, right here below, the Kingdom of Heaven. To this end, He speaks in parables. First of all, the kingdom of Heaven is a treasure, in view of the life to come, which we constitute for ourselves, little by little, throughout this earthly life through daily acts. And Jesus goes on, we must be agile, just like the merchant, to build this kingdom of Heaven, that is to say, not to cling to what seems to be pleasant, shimmering or attractive, to go in search of the Good. Finally, the kingdom of Heaven is not reserved for a social class or a category of persons, still less for a single individual: it is within the reach of the one who makes the effort to go in search of it. Therefore let us first seek the kingdom of God and all things will be given to us above.

With you, we take up Mary's song: ‘My soul exalts the Lord’ and we repeat with her: ‘What shall I repay the Lord for all the good he has done me?’....
