Monday, May 25, 2020 - Seventh week of Easter Time - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to St. John 16, 29-33 - If you have been raised with Christ, seek the realities from above: there is Christ, seated at the right hand of God.
Witnessing the deeds and teachings of Jesus, the disciples rush to show their faith. But Jesus warns them that this faith will be tested. Two cases are mentioned: first the disciples will leave Jesus and then they will be persecuted. Both are true. The first one when Jesus was arrested, they all left, leaving Jesus alone to face his executioners. The second, the disciples were all persecuted while proclaiming the Gospel. In the same way today, Jesus warns us. May persecutions and trials not turn us away from Jesus, on the contrary, may they strengthen our faith and hope, for He is already "conqueror of the world".
