Tuesday, May 19, 2020 - Sixth week of Easter Time - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to St. John 16, 5-11 - I will send you the Spirit of truth, says the Lord; he will lead you into all truth.
Every separation always brings sorrow, especially if they are close friends of long standing. Such is the situation of the disciples, overwhelmed by the imminent departure of Jesus, who, to console them, promises to send the Defender. Thus, in the face of the difficulties that the disciples have to face, it is the Spirit that will give them the necessary strength. The disciples live in the bosom of the world, but they are not of this world, and it is precisely this world that they will have to submit to God's will. They could only do this with the grace of the Spirit.
Jesus overcame evil, he overcame sin, he overcame death. The Holy Spirit continues and accomplishes the saving mission initiated by Jesus. It is the Holy Spirit who acts within the Church itself. Therefore, every action we do within the Church should be done with the Holy Spirit.
