"There is no greater love than to give our lives for those we love ". Jesus insists that his commandment be put into practice so that we may always remain in his friendship. Keeping his commandment is what makes us his disciples: "My commandment is this: Love one another as I have loved you". This commandment is to perfect our life with Christ, even if it requires great sacrifices because He Himself sacrificed Himself out of love: "The measure of love is the cross". It is not only a question of observing it because it is a commandment, but above all because it is a virtue that makes us true disciples of Christ.
