This passage from the Gospel according to Saint Mark summarizes everything that has been proposed to us this week. We are on the seventh day of the Easter Octave: Christ, dead and risen, the foundation of our faith. Here He appears first to Mary Magdalene, the one He delivered from seven demons, from a deep relationship that bound them together. Surely He has much more for each of us, where are we in our relationship with Jesus? May the fact that He delivered us not be in vain.

Man's unbelief was already in the time of Jesus. Those to whom Mary Magdalene had announced the resurrection and the encounter with Jesus refused to believe. Likewise the two disciples on the road to Emmaus announced the same news, but again the other disciples were not inclined to give faith to their testimony. Finally, Jesus appeared to the eleven apostles and reproached them for their unbelief and hardness of heart. And we, in our time, is the resurrection merely a festive habit or is it really the foundation of our faith? Each one of us has been given the mission to proclaim the resurrection of Christ, but first we must be fully imbued with it, that our life be Easter so that we can pass it on to others.
