Scabies is a year-round disease, and in recent months more and more people are suffering from it. Scabies is a skin disease and is contagious, especially for sensitive skin. A parasite called sarcoptes carries scabies, penetrating the skin. Contact with a sick person can spread the disease rapidly, and treatment must be carried out with family members. Hygiene and health’ programme here on Radio Don Bosco.

December 1 is World AIDS Day, and the theme chosen for the celebrations in Madagascar is ‘Giving importance to human rights’. The celebrations in Antsiranana begin on 30 November and end on 1 December. Even if a person is a carrier of the HIV-AIDS virus, he or she has rights.
