And there again we find Jesus in a great discussion with the Jews. He, strives to teach them and they do not cease to oppose Him. The first teaching here is: "if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death", that is, eternal life is for those who listen and observe his words. There is no obligation here: "if anyone..." He says. Obtuse and unbelieving, the Jews were quick to reply, calling him possessed, since they only took him at his word.

Let us therefore remember that: first, eternal life is for those who listen to and keep the words of Jesus. Secondly, it is always wise to ask for clarification in case of doubt in matters of faith, instead of judging quickly at the risk of condemning an innocent person. Finally, let us not be unbelievers, otherwise grace will escape us.
