Saturday, March 21, 2020 — Third week of lent — Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 18, 9-14 — Today let us not harden our hearts, but let us heed the Lord's voice
What attitude should be adopted when we pray? and what words we should use? Here we are faced with two diametrically opposed ways of praying. On the one hand, that of the proud and conceited Pharisee, who boasts and, instead of presenting himself to God, makes an enumeration of the faults of others. And never, this attitude will never find favour in God's sight. The Publican, for his part, finding no words to express the extent of his sins, humbly put himself before the eyes of God. He put his trust, not on his own merits, but on God's mercy that he's quick to forgive.
