Thursday, March 05, 2020 — First week of Lent —Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Matthew 7, 7-12 — Create in me a clean heart, O God, Give me again the joy of your help.

According to a Provençal proverb "God hates the idle hand, God blesses the industrious hand". Already in our daily life, it is difficult for us to remain inactive in order to be safe from needs, just as in our spiritual life, it is impossible to claim salvation by remaining passive. Although God knows the least of our needs, we must make the effort to ask Him for them in order to obtain them especially his grace and mercy.

In addition to that, God call us to live love and mutual aid. This start with the mutual respect and then extend to the human community : "Whatever you want others to do for you, do for them, too." Acting as such brings us closer to God.
