Thursday, February 06, 2020 — Fourth week of Ordinary time — Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 6, 6-13 — The Reign of God is close at hand. Repent and believe in the Gospel.

In this Gospel passage, Jesus starts to share his mission to the twelve: "to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal diseases and infirmities"

In order to be able to accomplish their mission, they must follow the example of Christ and conform to his instructions, that is to say, become new men without ties or hindrances of any kind, have a missionary spirit and go without hesitation wherever they may be sent without fear of rejection and contempt for others, putting mission in the first place.

Oh Jesus, continue to call apostles among us, ready to set out according to your will, with no other form of power than your power, and with no other wealth than to make your word heard so that all men may feel your love.
