Wednesday, January 29, 2020 — Third week of Ordinary Time — Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 4, 1-20 — The seed is the word of God; the sower is Christ, and he who finds him abides forever.
Jesus Christ is the only one to defeat the force of evil. His teaching is a parable about the seed and the earth on which to sow. The sower only sows without caring about the type of soil. He sows but it is the one who receives the seed, namely the heart of man, who hardens. Only the Word can defeat evil, and it does everything so that the Word does not produce in our heart.
n different ways, Evil hardens the heart of man so that the seed cannot germinate there and bear fruit. By corrupting the heart of man, it suffocates the Word sown. Through vanity, the heart receives the Word only on the surface and cannot bend to the will of God. But he who receives the Word with a pure heart receives the grace of knowing the mystery of the kingdom of God and bears fruit for the glory of God.
