Monday January 17, 2022 - Second week of ordinary time - It is alive, energetic, the word of God; she judges the intentions and thoughts of the heart - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 2, 18-22
As long as Christ, who identifies himself here with the Bridegroom, is among us, fasting is superfluous and our life must be a time of joy and happiness with him. Recently, we celebrated his Nativity, his coming among us, so the Church invited us to live it in joy. But the day arrives when the bridegroom will be taken from us, the case of Good Friday for example, there fasting finds its full meaning and the Church enjoins us to observe this practice.
