Thursday January 13, 2022 - First week of ordinary time - Jesus proclaimed the Gospel of the Kingdom and healed all infirmities in the people - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 1, 40-45

The Son of God came among us to restore our dignity tarnished by evil and sin; such is the meaning of this healing which Christ granted to this leper. Leprosy is the symbol of evil that corrodes the bond that unites us to God, our Creator and to our neighbors. Just like a disease that cannot be cured leads to death, a sin that cannot be confessed leads to perdition. Today, it is through the Church, where the ministers with authority to remit our sins are, that God restores us to our dignity. Let us not separate ourselves from the Church and let us take advantage in faith of the sacraments which it administers.
