From the beginning, God created man to be happy. But it was Satan's traps that made him fall, so he lost his happiness. One of the most important aspects of happiness is communion with God. But he was broken because of sin.
To restore this relationship, God gave him a law to keep: the Ten Commandments. Jesus Christ later taught the way to happiness (cf. Mt 5, 1-12).
