At the time of betrothal, people who are planning to marry get to know each other mentally, physically, i.e. in terms of health, and spiritually, so that they can have happy sexual relations after the consecration of marriage. It is a biblical rule that a man leaves his father and mother to cleave to his wife, and this is achieved through betrothal. Love and Salvation
