The FAFIALA Center has contributed to the development of the rural production sector. The center, headquartered in Ambohimangakely Antananarivo-Avaradrano, will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2022

The work of the FAFIALA Center has always been based on research and development, training and conceptual support. Particular emphasis is now placed on the general policy of the State and the objectives of sustainable development. It focuses on all the foundations of its development work, particularly in the field of agriculture, short cycle breeding that respects environmental ecology.

Silk farming is one of the areas where they will have special skills. FAFIALA will strengthen the promotion of this industry in its 30 years of existence. Silk farming will be part of the Centre's general rural development policy: More than 6,000 farmers, technicians and organization managers have been trained by the FAFIALA Center to develop the production on which they have been working for 30 years. Training focused on production, environmental protection and rural development.

Many partners have trusted FAFIALA, financially and technically, started with the support of InterCooperation Switzerland which enabled it to carry out development work covering the eight sides of the island.
