Environmental and forest restoration, or what is known as “RPF”, is an unavoidable turning point at the present time, in order to protect the environment and ensure sustainable production. Restoring the environment and forests, where Africa will be making a special effort to reach 100 million hectares by 2024. 10 countries have issued a challenge to the RPF, and Madagascar in particular has set itself a target of 4 million hectares by 2030. Work is being carried out in this direction, particularly in the north of the island. The training of farmers in Antsiranana has not been wasted, there, to combat climate change and extend production.
The message was a success in the various training courses attended by these farmers. The work carried out for Antsiranana-II in the commune of Sajoavato and in the village of Berafia in the commune of Andrafiabe is already visible. Residents are beginning to restore the environment around the forest, a project run by the UNION MATANJAKA association in collaboration with the SOA network. They have worked with the TOSIKA association to provide training for farmers. The FAO, through the FFF FAO program, is co-responsible for the rehabilitation of the environment and the “RPF” forest in the Antsiranana-II district.
