Many farmers in the Analamanga region are convinced to use organic fertilisers without chemical additives. Mr Randriamijoro Jacques Lucien has been farming for 10 years, and has developed his knowledge of compost fertiliser production...

There are two reasons why he decided to produce compost. They have few oxen available, so the manure they get isn't enough to boost their crops. He is also taking advantage of the situation in the countryside.

Compost is a fertiliser obtained from the natural environment of the countryside; a mixture of leaves, dry waste and manure. Mr Randriamijoro Jacques Lucien produces compost from 15 to 30 carts, depending on the needs of his land. Composting has its advantages.

It depends on research and the sharing of knowledge to make it possible to obtain good quality compost and achieve good results in agriculture. Mr Randriamijoro Jacques Lucien also shares his knowledge with his fellow farmers.
