Members of Filamatra Soa Iombona or FISOI and SOAMITSINJO in the Analamanga region are receiving training as trainers in organic production through the KCOA-KHEA project. Five-day training course organised at the SAF FJKM Centre or the FOFIFAKRI Isoavina Ambanitsena neighbourhood in Manjakandriana in March 2024....

 

These trained extension trainers are leading farmers and business leaders involved in organic farming. KCOA-KHEA is a clearing house for environmentally friendly production or agroecology and organic farming in the East African region.

The project is funded by the BMZ/GIZ and coordinated by the Group of Practitioners of Environmentally Friendly Production in Madagascar (GSDM) and the Malagasy Union for Organic Agriculture (SYMABIO). The SOA Network is a partner supported by FFF FAO. An exchange training course on organic farming was held, covering 4 topics over five days.

There are four main tasks in the project, the second of which is training. These trained extension trainers will train other farmers," said Mr Tovohery RAMAHAIMANDIMBISOA, the project leader in Madagascar. The KCOA-KHEA project started in 2022 and was implemented in Madagascar in 2023. The project was initially launched in the eastern part of the island and will continue to be extended to many other regions.
