Farmers are facing problems along the Angavo forest corridor in the Antanidir commune area and the Analasoa commune in the Moramanga district. A non-profit association has planted saplings on the farmland of hundreds of farmers in the Ambilombe Fokontany in Antaniditra. All the farmland, whether cultivated or not, was planted, and the farmers who owned the land were not even informed in advance. Similar plants have been planted in Andranokely, and similar plants will be planted on farmland as far away as Antsapandrano Fokontany Antanifotsy in Analasoa.
For decades, these farmers have been cultivating fields and feeding thousands of people, said the coordinator of Justice and Peace, Amboasary District, Mr Rakotondrazaka Jean de Dieu. According to his explanation, the reason for the request is to benefit the inhabitants of these two communes.
Justice et Paix, District d'Amboasary-Gara, has written a letter to the Ministry of the Environment and Sustainable Development to inform them of the plight of the farmers and express their wishes.
