The FAFIALA Center's reforestation of the Ankeniheny Zahamena forest continues in Ambohitsilaozana, Ambohidava and Imerimandroso in the Alaotra-Mangoro Region. A second-phase project entrusted to them by Conservation International...

This second phase focuses more on tree planting. Over 1,000 hectares of land are to be covered by forest, of which over 700 hectares make up the first part and over 400 hectares the second part. Native trees will be planted, and over 2,000,000 saplings will be produced by FAFIALA and the surrounding communities to carry out the work.

The planting of these trees is being carried out in collaboration with the people living around the Ankeniheny Zahamena forest, as explained by project manager and FAFIALA executive director Raveloarijaona Nonah, which makes the project special:

In addition, the results obtained by the FAFIALA Center in the reforestation project in the Sofia Region entrusted to them by the PADAP project are positive.
The 5-year PADAP project, a sustainable, environmentally-friendly production project, has come to an end.

FAFIALA has been involved in rural development and environmental protection for over 30 years.
