Their creation of a common fund to lend among themselves, or GVEC, solves the financial problems of rural populations. The "Fanantenana" Association, in Fokontany Antandrokomby, Commune of Mahitsy, in the District of Ambohidratrimo, had nearly eight years' experience.

The association was created in 2014 and founded by like-minded farmers. They named this GVEC the "Avotra fahatelo". It was created to alleviate members' difficulty in finding funds to take care of important agricultural and social events such as student enrolment.

We chose to create the GVEC," said Mr Raobijaona Alain Bruno, the Association's leader, "because it is difficult for us to borrow money from these banks and microfinance transaction systems. "There's the interest rate, which is too high for us farmers, but there's also the guarantee that we're asked to provide in advance".

Razafindranampy Jeanne, a member of GVEV, said that the creation of GVEV had solved the difficulties faced by members, and she testified to the experience gained by the association.
