The results of the study on maize, bean, cassava and potato seeds were discussed on May 4, 2023 at the headquarters of the Centre de Recherche Appliquée au Développement Rural or FOFIFA in Ampandrianomby. The three regions where the study was conducted were Analamanga, Itasy and Vakinakaratra.

The objective of this project is to develop a seed production system compatible with the effects of climate change, so that there is a quality food and nutrient production for the countries located in the southwestern region of the Indian Ocean. Some of the results of the analysis of these methods of seed production; our farmers have difficulties in obtaining improved seeds that meet their needs. The demand does not follow the supply and the purchasing power of farmers is not affordable either. The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock is still looking for ways to deal with this, said its secretary general Raharinomena Fanja, and there is a strategy for this.
