Sickle cell anaemia is caused by abnormal red blood cells in the human body. People with sickle cell anaemia are known as sickle cell disease sufferers. The specialist who can treat this disease is the haematology department. The red blood cells of people with sickle cell anaemia are shaped like a sickle or crescent moon instead of being round, soft and deformable, which makes it difficult for them to circulate in the blood vessels. Sickle cell anaemia is hereditary; 10% of Madagascans are sickle cell sufferers... Symptoms: Arthritic pain, abdominal pain, fatigue, frequent dizziness...

 

Diocese of Miarinarivo

Pope Francis has accepted the renunciation of the pastoral government of the Diocese of Miarinarivo, presented by H.E. Mgr Jean Claude Randrianarisoa.
