Saturday, October 03, 2020 - 26th week of Ordinary Time - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 10, 17-24 - Blessed art Thou, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for thou hast revealed to the little ones the mysteries of the Kingdom!

Dear Christians, the seventy-two disciples report what they have accomplished in the mission that Christ entrusted to them. We are likewise asked daily or often to take stock of our lives. The first authority that Jesus gave to his disciples when he sent them is the power to cast out demons. This defeat of the demons, in the name of Jesus, was their first account. The demons are defeated, that is, the kingdom of God begins. Children of God can live freely, but we must always be careful, because the demon does everything possible to make us fall. Jesus directs the joy of the disciples to the heavens to which we turn.

On the other hand, Jesus also rejoiced, thanking God the Father for having chosen the little ones to reveal his will, that is to say, for Jesus, for God, it is neither intelligence nor erudition that makes for holiness, but a heart and love that give birth to faith. Let us also rejoice every day in the Holy Spirit, thanking the Father for his love, for his gifts. Let us put aside our pride and open our hearts so that God may reign. Amen.
