05 March — Jean-Joseph de la Croix was born in Ischia in 1654. At the age of 16, he chose the religious path by entering the Discaled Friars Minors. During 30 years, he travelled all over Italy to enforce the reforms brought by Peter of Alcàntara in the life of priests in Spain.
In 1706, he is allowed to relinquish his office with the Friars Minor. He spent the rest of his days working as a spiritual director and praying. He died on March 05, 1734 in Saint-Lucia convent. He made a reputation by his power to levitate when he is in ecstasy and his power of ubiquity, i.e. being able to be seen in different places at the same time.
