Monday January 11, 2021 - First week of Ordinary Time - The reign of God is at hand. Convert and Believe in the Gospel - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 1, 14-20

Dear Christians! Yesterday, it was said that Jesus is about to begin his ministry, He was first baptized in this case, and for this first week in Ordinary Time, He begins his mission. And like all the prophets who came before Him, Jesus calls to conversion and to believe in the gospel. The time has come, he says, for our era is no longer like that of the ancient Jews who still await the Messiah, when it is Christ; for us, Christ is already in our midst every day, so there is no longer any question of waiting any longer, the time has come for us to convert ourselves and to believe in him because these are the conditions that guarantee the salvation and eternal life.

Jesus' call to conversion is still relevant in the Church, exhorting us to convert and to turn to the Father. Many aspects await us on the road to conversion, we may only know the sacrament of reconciliation, which is already very good, but true conversion must cover all facets of our life, so do not wait. the only times of Advent and Lent, for conversion is a daily effort.

The second call is to believe in the Gospel which is none other than Him, He Himself is the Gospel for us. If the Father quoted loud and clear during the baptism of Jesus: "Behold, my beloved Son, in whom I find my joy", so also during the transfiguration on the mountain, and enjoining us in addition: "Listen - the "is because He is alone is the way which leads us to the Father, as He says:" I am the way, the truth and the life ". John, the evangelist, tells us that this Jesus whom God has placed among us is the revelation of the Father Himself and as it was explained to us yesterday, faith in the Son of God means that we behold him and that it is the guarantee of our salvation.

On the other hand, Jesus called for us to collaborate with Him, a call addressed to fishermen first. God needs us to work with Him: this is by no means exclusive to the fishers of men, but the Church needs all of our talents and abilities and that we contribute to the expansion of the kingdom. of God, that is, we respond to his call with all our potential and work with Jesus for the expansion of his kingdom.
