Sunday, June 21, 2020 - Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to St. Matthew 10, 26-33 - The Spirit of truth will testify on my behalf, says the Lord. And you, too, are going to testify.

Dear brothers and sisters, the Gospel today reminds us whether we are true disciples of Jesus Christ, faithful to our identity as Christians by our way of life and our commitments to God.

It is not easy to be disciples of Jesus Christ, to witness Him to the end, especially in the face of so much opposition and even persecution. In the face of this difficulty, Jesus invites us not to fear. Three times He tells us not to be afraid. First of all, because our path is the Word of God, "light of my footsteps and the lamp of my path". Then, for us, disciples of Jesus Christ, true life is not physical activity but a struggle for justice, truth and love. Finally, it is God Himself who takes care of us. "You're worth more than all the sparrows in the world."

Then anyone who clings to God fears nothing of this world. God is with him, even before the most incomprehensible events of personal and family life.
