Saturday, April 04, 2020 - Fifth week of Lent - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to St. John 11, 45-56 - Reject all the crimes you have committed, make a new heart and a new spirit.

Dear Christians, we are facing two diametrically different groups of people: on the one hand, those who believe in Jesus and on the other, those who reject Him. They act and adopt different attitudes. Those who do not believe are very present, but their intention is only to spy on the words, deeds and gestures of Jesus and then report them to the Pharisees, which has given rise to a conspiracy to kill Jesus. Now, let us ask ourselves: what is our reason for going to church? If only to spy, to condemn or criticize, we are participating in the decline of our church community. We go there without conviction, but only with the intention of harming, which is what those who do not believe do.

For those who believe, it is quite different. As the Jewish Passover approached, people began to flock to Jerusalem, those who believed began to look for Jesus who no longer traveled openly in public. They were concerned that they might not see him: "What do you think? He certainly won't come to the feast!". Such is the impulse of faith, one always wants to be in the presence of Jesus. In the situation we are living now, how can we quench this thirst to be near Jesus? By a life of intense prayer and by the sacrament.
